(Turns to the Player again) "Well, let me tell you a story. Long ago, when I started my career as a Pokémon professor, I wanted to help Pokémon. When I was a child I had no friends. That is, except for my Pokémon. I loved my Pokémon dearly and wanted the best for every Pokémon. Pokémon are excellent at bringing joy and comfort to their trainers and are very loyal. So as a professor, I devoted all my time in observing Pokémon and their relationships with humans. What I discovered was very disappointing. Humans do not show the same love and respect for their Pokémon as Pokémon do for their trainers. I've observed Pokémon being mistreated by other humans for quite some time now. The way people forced their Pokémon to pointlessly battle over such a petty thing as who may be stronger, is just an example. I cannot stand to watch humans abuse their Pokémon. Pokémon should only be expected to battle to bring forth their own freedom. But then again... Why bother starting a war to free Pokémon when there's a simpler solution? What if I could simply take the Pokémon to another place? A better place, even where humanity is reconstructed around the idea that Pokémon would be free for humans. As it turns out I'm not far from discovering such place. I'm close to finding a new world where people and Pokémon can live freely and independently. That day you came to my lab with your parents, they told me they had found something. It was a part of a legend that was tied with an ancient Pokémon called Hoopa. They didn't tell me what it was that they found specifically, but that would unlock Hoopa and his infinite potential. I asked for more information, but it turned out that they didn't seem fond of sharing. I instructed my admins to take your parents to our base of operations for more questioning. With their reluctant help, we have almost discovered Hoopa's location. You see, Hoopa can open portals to new worlds across space and time. We need this power in order to reach our ultimate destination. We will not be stopped in finding our new world. Those who will not follow us to the new world will be left behind."
Charizard has been willing to assist Ash in any battle, ranging from Casey's Chikorita to Falkner's Pidgeot with no complaint. However, Charizard maintained the rebellious Flamethrower attacks as a sign of affection for its master and while Charizard was loyal, its love of power and reputation remained. During its training on the Charicific Valley, Charizard has significantly matured, despite retaining its fiery nature and fierce battling spirit. It gets along reasonably well with all of Ash's Pokemon, though it initially was jealous of Greninja due to its Bond Phenomenon power. But eventually Charizard and Greninja grew to work together and respect each other. Charizard is rather friendly with Serena, approving of Ash's decision to be with her fully and also has a close sibling relationship with Serena's Braixen. Charizard enjoys showing off in front of his girlfriend, Charla, though he did tone it down after Ash and Serena convinced him that Charla loved him just the way he was. Charizard considers Alain's Charizard to be a rival, though they do get along well. After Mega-Evolving, Charizard became significantly more powerful and robust, and has been arguably Ash's main contributor to his League victories, other than Ash-Greninja.
Kai's bond and fighting spirit with Dranzer grow after season 1 a great deal and by G-Revolution the bare are extreme strong together. Before Kai battled Brooklyn, Kai stared fiercely at Hiro. At this point, you can see an image of Dranzer GT igniting in flames in Kai's eyes.
Kai appears at the end of the very first episode of the show; at the time Kai is the team captain of the Blade Sharks (a group of Beybladers that terrorize others who play the game by defeating them and stealing their blades who has the following team members Carlos, Stuart, and Trevor), as well as the Beyblade World Champion. Kinomiya Takao, the main protagonist of Beyblade and Kai meet after one of Kai's 'underlings', Carlos, loses to him. Kai defeats Tyson as easily as Tyson did Carlos, though he does not use his Bit-Beast for this victory. Later on, Kai kidnaps Tyson's genius friend Kenny and is challenged by Tyson for his freedom. The fierce battle ends in a tie thanks to Tyson's new Bit-Beast, Dragoon. Kai releases Kenny anyway and leaves. No further confrontation occurs between Kai and Tyson until the Regional Tournament, in which Kai participates and defeats both Kenny and Max among others on his way to the finals.In the finals, Kai and Tyson battle a close match but Tyson wins.
At the start of this season, Kai competes with Daichi for a position on the BBA Revolution team and despite trailing behind in the match on purpose he manages to assert his dominance by claiming victory. Later he follows Ray and Max's lead and, in an effort to prove to himself that he is a better Blader than Tyson, leaves the team. He joins the newly re-formed team, Blitzkrieg Boyz, which is now out of Boris's control. His team progress through the World Championships only losing once and that too because Kai purposely threw away the match. He also confronts his former teammates Ray and Max but even this does not faze him and he wins the matches for his team. Later the Blitzkrieg Boys and BBA Revolution make it to the finals where he faces off against Tyson to decide the champion. The battle is more fierce, extreme and intense than any of their past fights against each other and was seemingly the best battle in Beyblade history according to the commentators. It ends in a draw.
